Hey Matt, sorry you ended up getting another paddling so soon.

My school are just the same with homework. Ever since I started at this school at age 11, the teachers treat forgotten homework as if it's a crime as serious as attempted murder. Also there's never a chance of handing in homework "late" ... if it's not done on time (right day, right lesson) then it's usually detention plus having to do the homework anyway.

Which shows just how seriously they take it, because a detention is the same punishment as we would get for assault or bullying or vandalism or crazy things like that.

I would say that teachers don't give detentions for missing homework now that we're a bit older. But actually it's more that we're all so terrorised by the strict regime about homework for so many years, that we would never even dream of not doing homework deliberately. And wouldn't dare to risk forgetting it.

Not all UK schools are this strict about homework. Or at least, some kids are so averse to homework that teachers partly give up on making them do it. I remember Connor spent large parts of secondary school considering homework to be basically optional because he had more important things to be doing. Altho I think his teachers still moaned to his parents about it sometimes. And that sometimes meant a spanking but sometimes didn't.

Spending all day knowing that you'll be getting a spanking at the end of it must be pretty bad!

It's interesting that you get cornertime both before and after the spanking. For me it's usually cornertime after the spanking. Altho I've occasionally been put in the corner before a spanking too.

I don't totally buy what parents say about "it's just the same in the real world" etc. I mean, I guess adults have to get to work on time or whatever. But if they don't have a piece of work ready on time they don't get fired on the spot, they would usually just be able to complete the work late I think.

Not that I would try telling my Mum that when she's giving me that lecture with the hairbrush in her hand and I'm stood in front of her in my birthday suit having to listen to it.
