When I was going to school, back in the stone age... (Just kidding). Corporal Punishment was widely used. There were some teachers who would even spank on the bare butt. The Majority of States have banned it in schools now. I believe there are only Seventeen States, mostly in the South that still allow it and that's up to each individual district whether they will paddle or not.
