Dear Mr. Seven,

I am sooooo glad that there is now another poster on the forum that occasionally spells his name wrong, too. It's now slightly less mortifying. I think I hold the record at my primary school for getting the lowest grade on a quiz. I knew the quiz was coming but I assumed it would cover what was said in class and deferred reading the textbook until "later". Of course, the quiz covered the book and I hadn't a clue to the answer to the single question so I got a zero on the quiz. I also spelled my name wrong at the top and my teacher gave me a minus one for that mistake, resulting in a -1 grade on the quiz. To date, I think that I am the only one in my school's history to get a minus grade on a quiz. Fortunately, my teacher didn't think that the quiz was important enough to e-Mail my folks the result. I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to keep my pants on if she had. You can bet that I tore up that quiz and never showed it to mom. One of life's low points.

That said, I would also like to keep referring to you as Mr. Steven. My folks drilled it into me at the earliest age that kids are to show respect to all adults by calling them Mr. (or Miss, or Mrs., or Ms, as the situation requires). That rule seemed reasonable and I've stuck to it. Even though I an no longer a kid (I just turned 18), I still feel uncomfortable not showing that respect. I hope this doesn't upset you.

-Jerry
