As I read this I was amazed that schools like that exist today. I also thought that many would be confused or doubtful when then this woman said that his teacher also was present. Most would think that the boy would have many teachers. That is common in middle and high school.

I can relate to both the discipline and the single teacher. When I was in a private Christian school in the 70s discipline was always bare. In my middle school years I had just 2 teachers. We alternated classrooms but just between the 2 teachers. Some smaller schools I guess it could just still be one teacher.

The big difference is that when I was in school there was, like at home, no count. They spanked or paddled until they were convinced I had learned my leasson.
