Marrion, I think you’re doing it just right, and your older boy, that’s getting a bit sassy, and needing his spankings more regularly is probably likely to continue to need them this frequently. I don’t think it’ll be wise to have him across your lap less frequently.
Getting his attention early in the session by handling his balls as you do is clearly working well.
