When I was growing up In Scotland in the 1970s if I got out of line my mother would give me "A GOOD SMACKING" I learned from an early age to fear her smacking hand she would take my trousers and pants down and put me over her knee and she would smack my bare backside really hard i will NEVER FORGET the horrible sting it was the most painful thing I've ever experienced I've never screamed so much in all my life she smacked the cheeks sit spots and the most painful thing was when she smacked the tops of back of my legs I learned some horrible lessons over her knee screaming howling and bawling choking back on the rivers of tears streaming down my face my backside was so sore after it I could not sit I will NEVER FORGET the unbearable agony of the sting of her hand
