I have not changed my discipline or correctin of my children since they were 4 yrs old. The only difference may be that I give more swats and warnings before I end up having to administer a spanking.
After a few swats and warnings, my 17 yr old son was spanked this past weekend. I have asked him on several ocassions to sweep out the garage from all the leavers that have blown in. I finally told him last Thursday that if it is not done by Friday afternoon, he was getting a spanking and grounded for the weekend. It had been several months since he had been spanked. So on Friday evening after dinner, I went to his room and told him since he did not do as I asked and he had several chance to complete it, the time has come for him to be spanked.
Obediently, he removed his shoes, socks, pants, and boxers. he said he was sorry, and that he did deserve the spanking. He lowered himself over my knee and I administered a thorough hand and paddle spanking. I spank until I hear remorseful crying. I helped him off my knee and sent him to the corner to meditate on his behavior. I went to his room thirty minutes later and told him he may get dress. After dressing, we knelt down and prayed and he asked for forgiveness. We then sat and had a talk, and he then went out and swept out the garage.
