I grew up in the 1960, a time when spanking children was more openly discussed, and was not the taboo subject it would later become. As a young girl it never occurred to me that not all girls got spanked in the sensitive area ‘between their legs’. My assumption was simply that ALL girls got smacked on, what my mother liked to call, the ‘front bottom’. This assumption appeared to be confirmed because by age 11 I had four friends whom I knew were also spanked on the front bottom, so to me it seemed a fair assumption that this was more or less a universal method for spanking girls. It was only in my early 20s I realised it was not quite as ubiquitous as I had first thought, but none the less, while it may not have been universally used, I concluded it was nonetheless quite widely practiced.
I also learned, first hand, just how effective it was to spank a naughty girl on her ‘front bottom’. It was perhaps not surprising, therefore, that after I’d given birth to my daughter (at the beginning of the 1990s) that when my daughter misbehaved, I had no qualms about introducing her to spankings on the bottom (front and back). It should be noted that by the 90s all spanking had become something of a taboo subject, which could no longer be discussed openly. I nonetheless I often wondered to myself whether there might be other mothers who, like me, had grown up receiving ‘front bottom’ smacks, and had carried on that tradition with their own daughters, but no longer able to discuss it.
My own daughter is now an adult, and a mother herself. I’m pleased to report that she clearly appreciates how effective genital spankings were for her growing up, because has continued the family tradition.
I find it interesting to note how, in the internet age, it might appear that there has been a resurgence of the use genital spanking. However, I do find myself wondering whether it is not so much a resurgence in this method of spanking, but rather that the internet has enabled mothers to finally discuss the topic again.
