With summer vacation came a lot of cousins, boy and girls, spending time together and those underneath a certain age sleeping in the same room. This increased the frequency of spankings being given less than privately. Being taken to the bedroom for a bare bottom spanking wasn’t the guarantee of privacy we were used to, and it wouldn’t be unheard of for spankings to be administered on the spot in front of other kids in the family. This was a very effective deterrent for all my cousins against disobedience and lying in particular.
