Gosh yes a wooden spoon is wicked bad on the bare! Scary with your mom having the spanking spoon with her like that - so she spanked y'all with it various places?
We had a special spanking spoon hanging in the kitchen. I I remember at 13 about to be spanked at my aunt's house and mom asked to borrow a wooden spoon to spank me. My aunt said she only had cooking spoons and didn't want it touching my bare behind so she went and got a wooden hairbrush.
The brush stung plenty, as much as the spoon but the brush didn't leave swollen red ovals all over my buns/thighs like the spoon did.
