My friend Morgan and I were being driven home from a day camp and we had made paper airplanes that day. We couldn’t stop playing with them in the back seat, and, despite calls to stop, we both ended up throwing them into the front seat. One of the two swerved and hit Morgan’s mom in the head.
She yelled at us and said we were going to “get it” when we got home.
Ten minutes later we got pushed into Morgan’s house and brought to the kitchen where we each got five good whacks with the wooden spoon on the seat of our pants.
I think I dreamed a much worse scenario in those ten minutes than those ten whacks ended up being.
