My mom had a friend named Miss Wilson. Miss Wilson was a single mom with two children, a boy my age named Ryan, and a girl named Sarah who was two years older.

I spent many nights over at Miss Wilson’s house. She was strict with her children and would spank Ryan in front of me. I always kept my eyes down or kept them glued to the TV when she did this to save him some dignity. The sound, though, was impossible to ignore. It sounded like she swatted very hard and that loud SMACK was painful to hear.

One night when I was 8 years old we were having a sleepover at their house. Ryan and I were in the basement roughhousing. We didn’t break anything, but came close a couple of times. Miss Wilson came down a couple of times and told us to knock it off. We did not listen.

After the third or fourth time scolding us, Miss Wilson told us to go upstairs, put on our pajamas, and brush our teeth, because we were both going to get a spanking and put to bed straight after. Ryan did not protest and immediately went upstairs. I stood frozen to the spot, as I did not think Miss Wilson had any right to spank me. Miss Wilson said something like “that means you too, mister!” and I told her she wasn’t allowed to spank me. Miss Wilson actually laughed at this and said she would call my mom and get her permission to do it.

I joined Ryan in his room while she made the call. I still didn’t put on my pajamas and Ryan gave me a quick pep talk that equated to “dude, if you know what’s good for you, you’ll change into your pajamas.” It was a very tense few minutes, but I did it and brushed my teeth.

Miss Wilson came into the room and told me my mom had given her permission to spank me. Ryan and I were made to turn around facing the wall. Ryan was spanked was first, and it sounded awful. All I could think about was that I would not howl and cry like he did, because I was embarrassed that Sarah, who was in the next room over, would hear it.

Miss Wilson grabbed my left arm tightly and told me to keep still. Let me tell you, she spanked very, very hard. Even though it was over my pajama bottoms, each hit hurt like the blazes. My plan of not making noise did not work and I was bawling very quickly. I made a complete fool of myself, I was hopping up and down, and leaning forward to get my butt as far away as possible. Obviously, this made it worse because it allowed Miss Wilson to have a better swing.

Ryan and I both slept on our stomachs that night. It took a long time for the lingering sting to die down. I fully expected to get a second spanking when I got home, but my dad managed to talk my mom out of it.

When compared to my parents, Miss Wilson spanked harder, but gave fewer smacks. My parents also spanked bare bottom, and Miss Wilson did not. If I had to rank from most painful to least painful, my dad would be first, Miss Wilson second, mom third, and Aunt Kate fourth. I’ll post about Aunt Kate some other time.
