Kid logic is not like our Earth logic.

Maybe not, but your story goes to show that you both had an inherent sense of justice. Your solution to the problem certainly left a lot to be desired, lol. Sounds like you both wound up just as badly off, if not worse, than you would have been if you did fess up.

I had a slightly similar situation with a more ambiguous ending. I was playing Barbies at a friend's house and twirling around like an idiot making my Barbie fly. She told me to stop because I was close to her bedside lamp. It was some kind of antique and meant a lot to her mom, might have belonged to her mom's grandmother. Well, I didn't listen. I'm sure you can never guess what happened. I totally broke the lamp. Her mom came running in when she heard the noise, and told me I had to go home right away. She obviously thought my friend had done it. I should have admitted it was me, but . . . I just couldn't. So, I headed home. That half a block was one of the longest walks of my life. I was convinced my friend would tell her mom that I had done it, and then she would call my mom, and she would be waiting at the house, ready to blister my behind. But everything was quiet when I got home. I kept waiting for a phone call that would doom my poor backside. I was a nervous wreck for at least three days. Nothing. Next time I saw my friend she never mentioned it either. I have no idea if she got in trouble for it, but I always kind of assumed she did, and I felt guilty about that one for years.
