Shoot that woman sounds a little creepy to me.
When I was fifteen I started baby sitting to make some pocket money. I got an allowance but wanted to make some money on my own. So I started babysitting for some of my neighbors. It was mostly people I knew, so they knew me and that I could be trusted to take care of their kiddos. I love kids and really enjoyed doing it and getting paid for it. Some of the parents did tell me I had permission to spank their kids but I rarely ever had to do anything like that. If I did, it was usually nothing more than a tap on their butt and telling them to behave.
When I was sixteen a new family moved into a house one street over. They moved into a house that was being rented. They had two boys who were four and seven. They started talking to the neighbors about trying to find someone to babysit for them and a couple of people on that street told them about me. So one of the neighbors I was sitting for introduced me to the woman. She told me her husband was employed with a local company they would only be living here for about eighteen months. So I talked to her about sitting for her and asked to meet the kids. I felt like they were unusually quiet for their age. I felt kind of weird but I talked to my mom about sitting for them. They had offered to pay me well. More than I asked for. When I did my first sitting job, before the mother and father left for the evening, I was instructed on their routine, including dinner, bath time, bed time and so forth, but also what they were and weren't allowed to do. Then the mother got a paddle off the top of the refrigerator and handed it to me. She told me to paddle their bare bottoms if they don't mind. She was dead serious when she told me that, so I just looked at her and said, "Yes ma'am." Then I put the paddle back on top of the refrigerator. The parents left and after a few uncomfortable minutes of just staring at me, I got their dinner ready and we sat and ate together. I started talking to them asking what kind of games they like to play and other subjects I thought would interest them. By the time dinner was over they were warming up to me. We played some games and had fun together. As bed time was approaching, I got their baths and then into their pajamas and put them to bed. After a few minutes, I heard them scuffling around. So I put them back to bed again. The scuffling started again, and I went into the bedroom. I didn't take the paddle with me, I just told them, "Stop it, it's bed time." and I gave the younger boy a little pat on the bottom. Then did the same with the older boy. That time they stayed in bed and went to sleep. It was about 10:30 when their parents got home. The father went and sat down in the living room and the mother talked to me in the kitchen. She asked me if the boys behaved themselves and not thinking about it, I said, "They were great, but I had a little trouble getting them to settle down for bed. I guess they were excited." She asked me if I paddled them and I told her no, I just gave them each a little pat on the butt with my hand the last time and they stayed in bed and went to sleep. The woman looked angry at me and said, "I told you what you were supposed to do, why didn't you do it?" I told her, "They were just excited, there wasn't any reason to spank them." She called her husband in the kitchen and they started talking in a language I didn't understand. She pointed to me, and then the top of the fridge. He turned one of the kitchen chairs around and sat down, then his wife grabbed the paddle and handed it to him. The next thing I knew he told me in English, "Girl you come here and pull down your pants, I'm going to show you how you're supposed to spank children." Even though I was taught better than to curse at an adult, I told him, "No way in hell!" Then I literally ran out of the house and home. When I got home, mom asked me what was wrong and I told her and that I would never sit for them again, because they're too weird. Then I told ehr about her husband threatening to spank me. Momma got ticked and told me she didn't blame me and that she doesn't want me to sit for them anymore. The next day, the mother came to see Momma about me, angry because I didn't do what they said. I guess expecting me to be punished for it and that she would tell everybody what a terrible sitter I was. Momma just told her, "You don't have to worry about a thing. Sonya won't be sitting for you anymore." Then said, "As far as the neighbors are concerned, they know my daughter better than they know you, and I doubt they will be taking your word for it at all." The woman got mad and stomped off. A few of the neighbors on that street said she had badmouthed me, but they didn't pay her any mind. They didn't live there but a few months before they moved away.
