When you asked about the "romantic" aspects of spankings like in the old movies where the leading lady found herself over the leading man's knee. I've seen a lot of movies like that and while I find the scene amusing and played for the macho romanticism. It's not something I would be into personally. My husband and I watched McClintock last weekend on TV. I've loved the movie since I was a kid and truthfully and part of that was because of the spanking scenes, unrealistic as they were. The kids were watching it with us and my youngest boy and my daughter both giggled over the spanking scenes. They both started teasing and asking Mark, "Daddy, would you ever spank Momma like that? He just chuckled and didn't answer, but they kept pressing so I said, "Why don't you answer them, honey?" Then he finally said, "Kids, I would never hit your Momma. There is no good reason for a man to ever hit a woman. Besides, If I ever even thought about doing that to her, She'd take that shovel away from me and probably beat me half to death with it." To which I smiled, kissed him on the cheek and said, "That's right sweetie."
