If the parent told the other kids to go home before the spanking, generally we would not see each other again on that same day. Depending on the kid. When I was told to go home I went home, or to some other friend perhaps, and if we were in a group we just went play or do whatever we had planned to do together without the friend who was getting the spanking, accepting their fate.

Sometimes the kid who got spanked might join the others later, but many times they did not. I think they were wither grounded (I was at times) or too embarrassed to go play with a sore bottom.

I imagine my friends also went their own business when my mom told them to go. Personally, I did not want to face my friends who knew I just got a red bottom, even though I knew they got plenty too. So even if I could go out, I preferred not too. After a spanking I just felt like staying in my room rubbing my bottom, crying, feeling sorry for myself for at least for a couple of hours.

On the other hand if the other kids were not sent away, then I would have to face them. I would avoid eye contact at least for a while. I personally tried to pretend like it did not happen, whether I got it or others had gotten it. It was embarrassing for me, more so if I was the one spanked, of course.

Some of my friends also tried to avoid bringing it up at all, but others were more curious and did not mind talking about it, like the ones who were doing the project with me that time for example. They did insist looking at my butt and eventually I caved and showed them, briefly, mainly just so they would shut up about it.
