Probably because I was more of a distraction than anything else, chatting with other kids. They would get in trouble too. I did have a teacher in Seventh Grade who taught History. He was a sexist pig and was constantly putting women down. He even paddled me once for "backtalking him". We were arguing about women's rights, which was a common theme since he had one of those "a woman's place is in the home, bare foot, pregnant and in the kitchen, serving her man." attitudes. He was being very anti woman that day and I was calling him out on it. The class was egging me on, which didn't help matters any. He literally told me "G..... Just like all those feminists, you need to know your place little girl", then he told me to "sit down and shut up." I lost my shit at that point and I called him a "sexist pig". So he told me "G...... out in the hall NOW!" grabbing his paddle out of his desk. I got up and walked out the door almost pushing past him. I was one pissed off Seventh Grader. Since our School system required girls being paddled by a male faculty member to be witnessed by a female faculty member, he got the English Teacher across the hall to be his witness. He made me bend over and grab my ankles and gave me three licks. I don't if it's because I was so mad, or he was because he was an old man, but the paddling didn't hurt all that bad. I was teary eyed, but didn't really cry and I still think that was because I was so ticked off more than from the spanking. But unlike the usual spankings at school, instead of being embarrassed and my feelings being hurt, I walked in with my head held high, because I felt like I won. At the end of class he called me over to his desk and handed a note to take home and returned signed. Telling me I'd get paddled again if I didn't bring it back. As I was leaving, he sneered at me and said, "I hope your Daddy wears you out tonight." I said, "Don't count on it." and walked out. I read the note as I was taking it home. It said that I had gotten three licks today because I was being disruptive and insubordinate. Then he wrote a note suggesting that my daddy needs to take off his belt and give me a good whipping on my bare butt.

When I got home after saying hi to Momma I told her that I had gotten paddled and why, then I handed her the note and told her the full story. I was surprised by the fact that not only did I NOT get spanked for getting in trouble at school, but she TOOK MY SIDE. She even said, "Calling him a sexist pig wasn't the smartest thing to do, but I certainly understand why you did it." Then instead of signing she said she wanted Daddy to see it first. I thought maybe I might get in trouble with him. But when he got home a little later, Momma had him sit down with us and said, "Sonya's got something to tell you." Then I told him the full story including about the note and what it said. He kind of chuckled and he asked me if the paddling hurt. I smiled and said, "Not much Daddy" He just smiled and winked at me. Then he told Momma, "Mother, I think you and I need to both sign this note. Would you get me a red marker please?" Momma got up and grabbed a ball point pen and a big red marker. She signed the note in the usual spot and then where the teacher wrote the message suggesting that Daddy spank me with a belt Daddy wrote the word NOPE in big red letters. Then took the pen and signed his name to it. He winked and handed me the note said, "There you go Baby Girl". I asked if I was going to get a spanking for getting in trouble at school, and they both said, not this time. Momma said, "It looks to me like he was provoking you to react the way you did. Is he like that with all the girls?" I said, "Yes he is Momma." Daddy said, "if this keeps up, maybe we need to have a little Come to Jesus Meeting with him." When I went to School the next day, I took him the signed note, and he sneered at me and said, "I bet your daddy whupped you good last night G....." I just smirked back and said, "You're wrong again, sir." When he read the note and saw my Daddy's response, he looked mad enough to eat nails and crap tacks. He always gave me bad conduct marks but I never got in trouble for them once my parents knew what a jerk he was. He eventually called for a parent teacher conference with Daddy because he didn't like meeting with kids' mothers. Daddy let him have it with both barrels. I was pulled out of his class and placed with another History teacher.
