We weren't a family that went out to eat much so I don't have much experience there. When I think I was about 7, my aunt took me to one of the big malls in Houston for back to school clothes (about an hour away from our town). She was not my favorite person and I had a bad attitude all day. When I thought we were about to go home, she said we were going to go eat lunch at her friend's restaurant.

I was pouting and sulking as we sat down and she finally looked at me, pointed to the bathroom, and asked if I remembered what happened at HEB (a grocery store). If she had spanked me in a bathroom before, I didn't remember it (and still don't) but I knew the answer was yes and took the hint to put on a smile and be polite.

Looking back, I know I should have acted better that day. I thought my aunt was the meanest woman I knew, but adult me knows she was buying me clothes that my parents couldn't afford at the time.
