Well I have to say the scene in the movie Joe the King stands out in my mind as what I experienced, especially at a younger age. I did get a couple of over the knee spankings in first grade in front of the class and my pants were pulled down for the spankings. However she didn't pull my underwear down and she spanked me with a paddle instead of her hand.

Spankings from my mom, until I was eight, were usually over the knee like in the movie and they were bare bottom, even in public. In the scene from the movie when they cut to the boys face, you can see the embarrassment and obvious distress in his eyes. I remember being a lot like that except the tears were flowing freely and I was quite vocal during spankings. Often forgetting all about trying to "tough it out". Even the scolding during the spanking reminded me of the scolding mom would do when she spanked. Driving each word home with smacks on my bare behind.
