That really depends on the situation. When me or my little sister did something small that earned a regular spanking just by hand our mom would say "Okay sweetie your spanking is over stand up" but if it was a serious spanking where our mom had to use the paddle then she mostly didn't say anything and just kept us over her lap to cry until we ourselves realized it was over and finally let us up.
