I did get called to the office a few times. Usually it was to pick something up Momma had left for me or something like that. But the other kids always assumed I was going to get paddled or detention. I did get a couple of calls to the office for detention and the time that I talked about the Assistant Principal paddling me in Seventh Grade. I along with an eighth grade boy were both told to report to the office at final bell. That was the longest walk in the world, and everybody seemed to know what was going to happen to me. By the time I got there, the boy was already in the office and I had to listen to him getting paddled. The three loud pops scared me it was like a shotgun and he was bawling his eyes out with each lick. He came out of the of the office sobbing and rubbing his butt. Then I had to wait a few minutes because the Assistant got a phone call. My heart stopped beating when I was finally called in, and you all already know the rest...
