One punishment my father used to give me was to throw me fully clothed into a cold shower. I am aware that many would call this abusive, and I might be inclined to agree but I’d rather not dwell on it.

I don’t remember if these cold showers were the punishment in and of itself or if it was combined with a spanking. If I was a betting man, I would bet that it was combined with a spanking.

As I got older, the cold showers stopped and long, hot shower became a guilty pleasure. I would hop in the shower after a spanking and replay the whole scenario in my head. I can remember simultaneously being angry at my parents for spanking me, but also considering what I could have done different to avoid it.

I was put in the bath with my female cousins when we were very young.
