I think I posted this story here one time. One rainy Saturday afternoon my cousin Andrea was over and we were bored and started practicing gymnastics in the living room. We were ten, it was 1984, and we were still hyped about watching Mary Lou Retton at the Olympics.

We'd already gotten at least two warnings to stop doing that. Then Andrea tried a flip and her foot went through the cheap fake wood paneling in the living room wall. She had a large cut on her foot that was bleeding a ton.

Well my parents came in and I knew at least I was getting spanked. Turns out we both did. We both went into their bedroom. While I was bent over getting my dad's belt, between my yells I could hear Andrea screaming as my mom cleaned her cut (I don't think hydrogen peroxide is recommended now but in the 80s, all cuts got cleaned with that brown bottle from hell).

As I got up and pulled up my panties and shorts, my mom was moving the already bawling Andrea over to my dad with her foot neatly bandaged. I was pushed out of the room and I could hear my mom tell my dad that Andrea gets what I got.

My dad alternated working between construction and lawncare and was very mad to spend his surprise day off (that adult me realizes meant he didn't make any money that day) going to the hardware store and fixing the wall. So we made sure to stay out of his way the rest of that day.

Anyone else do something stupid and have to get an injury fixed before getting spanked for whatever caused it?
