I started kindergarten in 1973 our schools paddled though they no longer do it was the assistant principals choice if sent to the office and the teachers choice in the classroom most time it was the paddle 5 swat max most times three it was over quickly but most cried or at least had watery eyes that was a deterrent no one wanted to come from the office or hallway crying with a sore bottom if I had the choice though the paddle it got it over with rather than lines or detention that my grandkids get as schoo punishments
