Holidays are great but can very much lead to boistrous behaviour, especially us boys.

I especially struggled with the long drives and keeping occupied. Once on a long, hot summer drive me and my brother entertained ourselves by taking off our seat belts and scolding each other with the white hot buckle. Dumb as behaviour, we were sternly warned several times but kept on with the play..

When Dad ran out of warnings the car pulled into a rest stop. Both me and Declan had to take turns leaning on the boot of the car and Dad handed us both a huge spanking on the back of our shorts.

Guess because there were plenty of warnings Dad gave us both heaps of whacks, guess 15-20 each.

Tears ran down both our faces, and we were then faced with a few more hours travel sitting on a badly smacked bottom. There were no more buckle games, thats for sure!
