For me our mother gave me and my sister always a few hard smacks on our bottom to end her spankings. Sometimes when it was a serious spanking when she let us up she even gave us a few hard smacks on our bare bottom while standing before telling us to go to our room. That was basically her way of asking if we learned our lesson, well we did.
