The inspection of 'wounded behinds' was a common post spanking ritual that we often engaged in and many of my friends did also. My parents and many other parents as well were very relaxed about this, as they had done exactly the same thing when growing up themselves. For us kids it was a form of mutual comfort and sibling/cousin solidarity in the face of something that was to be greatly feared and dreaded! Spankings hurt! Oh boy did they ever hurt! They were humiliating and frightening. You could never completely escape them, so by sharing our misery and fear and consoling each other we brought some comfort to ourselves and saw first hand that it was not only our own bottoms that had been blistered! Few kids ever denied they got spanked. Nobody believed them anyway. In 50s, 60s and 70s America most kids, to varying degrees, got spanked. Better to admit this, than deny it! Not that you could anyway. Your spankings would more than likely be witnissed anyway at some stage. Also they would, especially in the summer when windows were open in the warm weather, be clearly heard by other kids and adults in the immediate vicinity. And you parents and siblings, cousins and friends would more than likely let others know that you had just had a spanking! So hiding it was pointless anyway! You were part of a massive club! So you might as well just admit it!
