I don't think that my parents primary aim or purpose when spanking me, my siblings or my cousins, was sexual gratification - primarily the purpose of the spanking was a disciplinary one; the objective being to cause pain, humiliation and to leave an impression and thus teach me/us a damned good lesson - however, I cannot but conclude that when administering a spanking (and as I remember it back in the '50s, '60s and '70s virtually all spankings were bare bottom ones) having a kid or teenager's bare buttocks over your knee(s)/lap staring up at you must have in quite a few adults caused some sort of sexual arousal! To varying degrees, of course! When you throw in the proximity of the buttocks to the genitalia and add that into the equation, it would I think be naive to think that not a few parents and other adults (babysitters etc....) did not, even for a fleeting moment experience some sort of erotic arousal and sexual thought! Some parents might not of have of course but I suspect that many did!

In the case of my own parents I think that my Mom often derived some sexual arousal from our spankings. Her remarks about our
"heinies looking like ripe tomatoes" and our "chubby butt cheeks resembling mounds of jello" strongly indicated to me that our spankings had an erotic dimension. But in fairness, her primary purpose when tanning our behinds was a disciplinary one! But aside from her remarks and the occasional pat or rub nothing ever improper occurred.
