I got it from my best friend's mom but that is a long story and I don't think she ever expected that she would paddle me so she never actually threatened. Her son was deathly afraid of her paddle I found out why the hard way. At school, the teachers who gave their own swats usually bragged about how hard theirs were. The physics teacher who was also the girls tennis coach definitely bragged/ warned and I discovered, again the hard way, that she really backed up what she said. Most of the teachers sent you to the principal's office to get paddled and I don't remember the principles bragging though I imagine they probably did.
