I never witnessed him paddling anybody other than overhearing a couple of them. But I never saw anyone come out of his office after being paddled that wasn't crying at the top of their lungs. I did see some girls with badly bruise bottoms who were paddled by him changing in Gym Class. As far as I know, he didn't have a witness when he paddled boys but State Law required that a woman be present when a male paddles girls. So since he didn't instruct his Secretary to hold my wrists when he paddled me, I can assume she did the same to other girls. Since he held the paddle with both hands when he paddled me, swung it full force, I can safely assume he did it to other girls.

His replacement was a woman, and I know from what other kids have said, including some of my friends, she paddled too. I never was paddled again after that because my folks removed the permission for the Schools to spank us. But my friend Allison caught three licks from her along with another girl for fighting on School grounds. I saw her after she got her licks. She showed me her butt and while it certainly was red, it wasn't bruised. In fact the spanking she got from her Daddy at home that night was much worse than the three licks she got from Mrs. M.

I ended up getting paddled at School five times that year. Three licks from my History Teacher, Five licks from my English Teacher, Also two times I got paddled by the Girl's Gym Teacher, two licks the first time and three the second, then my last ever paddling was the one from the Assistant Principal and other than the one I got from the AP, the only one that left any bruising was the second one from the Girl's Gym Teacher.
