My stepmomma Carrie would have you over her lap, bare buttocks in optimal position, for a few minutes. I could never keep count of the number of swats I and my siblings, got. Carries spankin's always achieved a deep, hot and pulsating burn on the flesh of your butt cheeks! Also a scarlet glow that to quote my 'dear stepmom' resembled "a Mississippi sunset" testified "to a job well done!" Only when 'a hot, glowing and burning throb' radiated from your behind had you had, in her opinion, A REAL SPANKING!! Or as she phrased it "a good ole fashion, Southern style spanking!!"

When Daddy gave us a lickin' with his belt on our bare heinies we would typically get a good round dozen licks, sometimes, if he was really pissed off with us a few more! Those lickins left our 'fannies flaming' with pronounced and raised welts that hurt SOOOOOO BAD!!!
