As a boy with a younger and older sister being bared for spankings was shameful from a young age and grew much more embarrassing in puberty.
That's good you could go over the lap right after being bared. My stepmom was big on taking my underpants down then scolding me for a minute.
Like you said, my nudity was the center of attention for my sisters (and others) and even as a teen I'd blush bright red and start weeping.
