I had similar thoughts to what Carol described.

When one of my siblings was spanked, I felt bad for them, and also felt scared that I would also be spanked if one of our parents was in spanking mode. I also felt compelled to watch and was fascinated by the scene. I felt guilty (and still do) that I watched my siblings in their most vulnerable moments.
