My childhood was the mid 60s to early 80s. I don't remember being naked as a big of a deal as it is now. There were times when we knew it was ok and times when it was not. I would certainly be embarrassed if I was seen when it was not normal but other times it was no big deal.

We often skinny-dipped during boy scout camping trips. It wasn't like we had to, but we were allowed and many of us did. When I was younger it was not uncommon to enjoy the slip and slide in the backyard while totally naked. That included other neighbor boys and even sometimes young girls.

Of course showering in Jr and Sr High was another time it didn't seem as strange but sometimes awkward. Same with at scout camp. At camp our scoutmaster would also check our butts for ticks so dropping your underwear was ok then since all of us did it.

There were also more than a few spankings where I was naked or semi-naked along with friends or other scouts.

Yeah, those times were the 'good ol days'.
