Hello Liam,
and thanks for starting this forum!

Mum likes when there is life around. Sometimes the noise does bother her, but then she often closes herself inside the house.

I have built three waste points on the beach, where the candy and snack papers and food scraps could be sorted. This summer, I also had to add ashtrays to the waste points. Teens my age and slightly older have started smoking.

Smoking pisses me off: it smells bad and I don't understand smokers who don't bother to take a few steps and drop their cigarette butts in an ashtray but toss them around and leave there!

This summer I've had to pick up stumps from the beach, more than ten every morning! Because of them, I am considering how to set a total smoking ban on our beach!

Otherwise, sorting the garbage goes quite well, but I find it hard to tolerate the indifference of smokers! What privilege do you smokers have to leave your stumps like a dog her shit!?!

Of course, I have mentioned our special beach on other forums as well, but not in such detail or extensively about the problems it causes.

Our beach is wide, our house includes over 400 yards of shoreline, well enough for 30 nude swimmers, most of them still undersized!

The lake is big, several square miles. The opposite shore is about a mile away and is several miles wide.

Years ago, I told about our adventure on another forum. Once, in beautiful summer weather, my best friend Pauli and I decided to swim to the opposite shore and back, the distance one way about one mile. When we were almost there, the wind suddenly started blowing hard from behind. A mile is rather a long way to swim and we were quite tired when we reached the opposite shore - naked of course! We wondered about the situation on the beach. As a more experienced swimmer, I told Pauli that we couldn't try to swim back home into the big counter waves. That would be far too dangerous.

So what would we do? Two freezing preteen boys, without a stitch of clothing or a phone to call for help or a ride home?

We had to go around the lake on foot. The trip was at least twice as long and the village road didn't go along the shore of the lake.

We set off, and the first setback hit us right away: the road we had to walk along was gravel and we were barefoot. Every other step hurt the soles of our feet. Fortunately, our feet got used to the gravel pretty quickly and walking didn't hurt as much anymore as far as we remembered to be careful not to step on the sharp stones.

But the journey was slow. Whenever we heard the sound of an approaching car, we hid in a crouch at the bottom of the ditch. We also thought about calmly walking forward, without hiding, but we ended up hiding anyway. However, two completely naked preteen boys walking along the road is such an extraordinary sight that people might stop to ask what's wrong or if help is needed. When we realized that local people, parents of our school friends, teachers, even the police might also drive by, we decided to continue hiding. We also received a small reward for this decision. We were at the bus stop when we heard the approaching car again. We crouched at the bottom of the ditch behind the vegetation when the car slowed down and stopped at the bus stop. Two children a little younger than us got out of the car, a girl and a boy. They started peeing on the edge of the ditch, between their car and our hiding place. Pauli and I knew how girls pee, but neither of us had ever seen it actually happen. When the girl lowered her pants to her knees, we saw her bare bottom and how her buttocks separated when she went into a squat. You might have thought we would have laughed, but it was anything but: we were terrified and scared to death that one of the children would notice us. They were both in our school, the girl in a year below us and the boy in the second grade or something. Fortunately, they didn't notice us and soon jumped into their car and left. Only then did we start to laugh a little.

We finally got home, the walk took almost twice as long as the swim, and by the end our soles were sore and hot. Then it was wonderful to go swimming again!

Since then, we haven't swum to the opposite shore anymore. Something the preteen boys can learn - even without getting spanked!

How long ago was it that you and your friend swam to the opposite shore, and how old are you now?

Wouldn't it have been more comfortable walking on the shoulder of the gravel road where there might have been grass growing?

I know that suggestion is late in coming.

We were 12yo then. I'll turn 15 within two weeks.

Certainly if there was only grass growing there, but there were also stones among the grass on the side of the road and there could also be glass chips from broken bottles. It was safer to step on the gravel, where you could see where you were stepping.

Doesn't matter, sir! However, we wouldn't have followed that advice anyway!

Hi Kim, Thank you for answering my questions.

I don't smoke either and I don't like the smell of cigarettes, and even though I have put ashtrays in them, don't they leave their butts there? Or is your problem simply because it smells a lot? The truth is, if I were you, depending on how well you know them and how they are my friends, I would make the rule that cigarettes are prohibited or not, I mean, if I like them I would let them, but if they are not my friends I wouldn't let them because they only bother and get dirty.

I thought your story about when you went to the other shore was incredible. Swimming 1 mile is a lot and is a pretty good challenge for any swimming lover. You can see that the lake is quite big. I love how you told the story and what seems difficult is what you said. They had to pass to be able to return, I suppose cold, fear and suspense with the children, and clear pain in the soles of their feet.

Good luck with your lake, and thanks for speaking on the Forum.
