I managed to keep myself under control at medical exams, and when I had "the talk" with my dad around age 11, he emphasized the need to keep focused on whatever activity I was involved with when women and girls were present. I mostly followed his advice, but at one water polo match at age 14, I was taking a breather and let my eyes wander when a young mom in the bleachers fully exposed her breasts to feed her baby. I was beet red with embarrassment and sat down legs crossed to hide my erection, difficult in tight Speedos. If anyone noted, nothing was said and returning to the cool water two minutes later killed my erection quickly.
