Tommy, my older brother, is almost 15 already but mom continue to bath him. For me mom trusted to wash myself since my 12. Tommy is embarrassed but mom tells boys need more control of their cleanliness

Hi Lena, you said that until you were 12 you were bathed by your mother: did she put you in the bathtub with your brother? Has your brother started puberty? What do you and him wear on the beach?

Hi, Matt!
Yes, mom bathed us together, as perhaps, do all parents, until I was 10 and Tommy was 12 then. After we became too big for be both in our bath and mom began to bath us separately. Mom bathed me till 12 and then I began did it myself but Tommy has no such trust from mom till now. Moreover, sometimes I help mom to bath him because I will work as baby-sitter soon and mom teach me as wash boys. Tommy’s puberty began since his 13 and I began almost then too when was between 11 and 12. Mom told we have no to embarrass each other because are bro and sis. On the beach I wear swimsuit since about 9, and Tommy got his swim trunks after his 12 as other children here

I will be 14 in December and my parents think it is healthy for me to be naked on the beach and wherever possible. It's true that I haven't started puberty yet, but I'm usually clearly the oldest child among the naked children. All my peers usually wear swimsuits and don't even show up during the swimsuit change. Have you ever met a child my age without a swimsuit on the beach?

In our region boys wear swimsuits after 12 only and when we were younger than 12, for me wasn’t unusual to see some my classmates naked on beach where we play together. Girls, including me had swimsuits since 9. I think almost nobody from mothers respects boys modesty before their 12. I saw several naked boys on beach and, perhaps, some from them were older that 12 but nobody had any signs of puberty. Boys before puberty, despite of their age, for girls are child yet and we could be with them without any our embarrassment that boys are naked. Moreover, since girls’12 many of us work as babysitter and boys nudity was part of our work. I understand you, Matteo, but your mom knows better.

Hi Lena! It seems that in your country it is considered acceptable for mothers not to respect enough the modesty of boys on the beach before they turn 12 and even after that if they haven't hit puberty yet. However, some boys enter puberty earlier than 12 and by this age already have some pubic hair and the enlarged testicles and penis characteristic of adolescents. Do the mothers of such developmentally advanced younger sons treat them the same way or make them wear swimming trunks or shorts?

So you are different than your peers because you are naked on the beach and they feel the need to wear swimsuits.
Maybe all of your peers wear swimsuits because they aren't leaders and are only followers following the crowd.
I think your parents know what is good for you and your health.
I also think that your parents don't want you to be a follower, and not be afraid to be different from those around you.
If I had met a child your age without a swimsuit on the beach I would congratulate him for being an individual and not being afraid to be himself.
