Our boys usually don't wear clothes around the house. We encourage it since we believe it's important for growing boys to spend time naked to become comfortable with their bodies. But it seems most parents don't have the same attitude these days.

Are there any parents here whose family is similar?

I'm not a parent myself, but I can share my personal experience growing up in the 90s. In my household, being naked at home was just the norm—I was actually expected to be nude most of the time, both indoors and in the garden. As soon as I got home from school, the first thing I did was take off my uniform, fold it neatly, and then stay completely naked for the rest of the evening. It didn’t matter if family or friends came over—I stayed nude unless I had to leave the house or go out the next day. It was never a big deal; it just felt natural and comfortable. Looking back, it definitely helped me develop a positive relationship with my body, free from shame or self-consciousness. It’s interesting how different families have such different approaches.

Thank you for sharing Ross. That sounds like a wonderful childhood. That's how it is with our boys too. We want them to not be ashamed of their bodies. I would love to hear more about your experiences.

P.S. If only we could get our boys to fold their clothes neatly like you!

Thank you so much for your kind words! Yes, it truly was a fantastic childhood—being nude at home just felt natural, comfortable, and honestly, amazing. I never felt any shame or hesitation, even when family or friends came over. It was simply part of daily life, and that sense of freedom really helped me grow up with a positive and accepting view of my body.

My parents always emphasized taking care of things—so folding my uniform neatly was just part of the routine, more about respecting my clothes than anything else. It became second nature after a while!

I mentioned in a previous post but I grew up going naked at home. After year 10 I was in foster home on a farm with wonderful mom. Immediately on moving there I always played with her best friends two kids. One girl was 9 and boy was 7. I would play naked with the other boy all the time. I unless I was helping at farm, all three of us were together often.

Especially in summer we boys played naked. I was told my moms brother grew up like this too, so it was Ok. After bath boys always slept naked. Girl would put on PJs

Tina (2019, Voy 223876) had two brothers whom their mother undressed “to keep them under control.” Although the boys eventually became more accustomed to Tina and her friends seeing them nude, they never stopped having erections.

rosa (2019, Voy 223876) has a family photo album dating from the 40‘s and 50’s. The album contains shots of her two male cousins not only swimming, but playing lawn games and board games completely naked.

In the family in which Ken (2020, Voy 223876) grew up, not only the boys but the adult males were nude. The family placed responsibility on the part of the visitors by posting a sign at the front entrance “that said any males present would be naked and in full view of anyone who entered.” Ken’s mother had a book club in which some of the women brought their daughters. Ken commented, “I guess they wanted them to enjoy the view and I did not mind giving them that view.”

When I was growing up with just my mom and sister I was kept naked at all times while my mom and sister were always fully dressed. Now I’m still always naked at home and expect the same of my son, my wife and daughter will sometimes go topless with a bra while it’s hot but otherwise will stay dressed.

The boy I mentioned above was being raised nude too, so I slowly joined him. I was eased into it at 10 and enjoyed it. After school three of us would undress and play naked until bath. On weekends I would stay naked unless doing sports or farm work.

I was told it was healthy for boys and just liked it after awhile. I did it few days at a time until I did activities like work or sports. My school teacher even saw us on beach in summer. Swimming was done nude too and always signed up for that and football.

I did get told to put shorts on at a pool a few times but for most part no one cared back then. A few other boys went naked in area too but not much today at all.

some of the other boys I played with were naked as well and I’d be staying naked every weekend since I wasn’t going to school and had no reason to wear clothes.

I was also told it was healthy for boys and that it made them better behaved and that’s the same reasons I tell my son.

Any boys visiting my house had to take off all their clothes until they left though, and just like expecting my son to be naked outside of school I expect the same of any boys visiting my house just like when I was a kid

Back in the 90s in India, readymade dresses were not readily available.
So at home in my small town during hot summer days, I was in half pants( tailored) and an undershirt vest. I got naked in front of my parents and aunts when I had to change my dress, and while I had to take a bath in my open backyard by the side of a handpump. Sometimes the housemaid was washing my dirty clothes. I did not have a personal room, nor allowed to bathe in the locked bathroom until I hit puberty (up to age 11-12). It was common culture back then for prepubecent Indian boys in a small town.
But whenever I visited my uncle-aunts home in rural Indian villages during my summer vacation, things were completely different. Outdoor nudity was common, like bathing naked by the riverside, playing naked by the side of the river on the sandy riverbank. During the summer at my village house, only getting my pants back when needed like for going out. Little boys do nor need dress was the attitude.
