In reply to: Anna 's message, "Re: Don't be silly, she's just a little girl!" on 15:47:51 11/15/25 Sat

"My brother had a lot of pubic hair last time and begged our mom not to let me watch or to wait outside... but she responded with the usual phrase "Don't be silly, she's your sister and a little girl!" and the pediatrician continued her work."

Your mother was absolutely right when she told your brother, "Don't be stupid, she's your sister and a little girl!" There's nothing wrong with you watching his private parts being examined. Your mother felt that it wouldn't trigger any sexual desires or vulgar thoughts, other than innocent curiosity. It's called the "Westermarck effect," and it's a psychological hypothesis that states that individuals who grew up and were raised together as children will not be sexually attracted to each other later in life. This phenomenon, also called negative sexual imprinting, is considered an evolutionary mechanism to prevent inbreeding. It suggests that a person develops a strong sexual indifference to people they lived close to in early childhood, such as siblings, as well as children and parents. Your mother was a psychologist without even knowing it :)

Jocasta, at that moment I also thought my mom was absolutely right, while my brother thought the opposite… lol…
Jokes aside, I've never heard of this "Westermarck effect"... I'll look online to find out more, as I'm curious now. Thanks for the explanation!
At the time of that visit my brother was 14 and I was 11... I wasn't that young (little) at all… I understood what I was seeing… lol…
I was obviously very curious (it had been almost a year since I saw him naked) and even excited by what I was seeing; I'd be lying if I said it left me indifferent.
But you're right: even though my brother was a good-looking guy (many of his girl friends and classmates were in love with him) and even though he had a nice penis, I never felt sexually attracted to him, and we never had sex together, or even played erotic games together.

Hi Anna! Unfortunately, I didn't have a brother and I don't know what it feels like to have erotic or sexual attractions towards such a close relative. By the way, I don't think it's right to associate erotic situations and the sensations they evoke with sex or sexual acts. Sometimes overexposure to certain social and moral norms can make many people's lives uninteresting and quite boring.
