you say, "They've been doing it since they were very young (4 or 5 years old), so it's now normal for them; they're used to being naked even in front of their female cousin or the daughters of friends who come to visit."
since they have been seen naked for so long a time, with different people and different genders seeing them that way, can i assume they are so comfortable being seen that way that they don't get erections knowing others can see their boy parts?

Hi curious,
ff course, erections can happen; it's normal. It would be a medical problem if they didn't have them; there would be something wrong with their boy parts…
But they don't get erections knowing that others can see their private parts; they're completely comfortable with that and their penises remain soft.
When playing games with a lot of jumping and running or simulating wrestling, their penises have sometimes become partially hardened or even erect at the end of the game.
It's happened, but only a few times, and it was mostly due to mechanical friction, not embarrassment or arousal.

I knew a boy with seemingly conservative mother. They had normal farm house, but when I played with him after taking school bus to his house, he just shed all clothes and put on shorts or kept bare and played. I had seen this before but did not expect him to do that. When my mom came she saw us outside playing with a hose and she just giggled.

Did your mom giggle because she saw that other boy playing naked, or because she saw you also playing naked with him?

It was end of school in late were twelve years in rather modest town in Florida to go nude once school ended .Once we were done surfing n empty beach shorts always came off for rest of afternoon . So, the second we were done boogie boarding, they came off.
Me and my friends would strip right there on the sand and spend the next two hours completely nude at end of school year. Nobody said a word. and back then, nobody thought twice about a twelve-year-old boy running wild in the sun.
We would wrap towel back to car but younger boys were nude in parking lot too.
