Hi Sean, this happened to us too, when we were kids.
I didn't swim (I had long hair and hated getting it wet, even with a cap, and spending so much time drying it). I went to ballet, but my brother loved swimming and went to the public pool near our house twice a week. When he came home, he often complained about mothers or sisters coming into the boy's locker room to help their sons or younger brothers. As I've already written in another post, he was very shy so he was very embarrassed to undress and change in front of them, especially girls.
Once, the mother of his best friend and classmate at school came into the men's locker room at the end of class because she had to talk to the instructor. Except she brought along the twin sister of the friend who was in their class. The two boys were naked because they had just finished showering and were drying themselves. The friend yelled at their mother to let his twin sister out, but the mother calmly replied that there was nothing she hadn't seen before and allowed her sister to stay with her. It was a super embarrassing moment for my brother, he wanted to die of shame. He even blushed while telling me about it at home... poor thing... I felt sorry for him…
Both my sons play swimming and soccer, but their classmates' sisters never enter the locker room and their mothers stay out too.

Yes that is correct that I had a version of that experience.
I did after school sports at a shared complex with other schools as was in remote area. The gym itself was rather larger an under utilized and maybe had classes in 3 age groups instead of by 1-2 year separations.
We did swimming football basketball track and weights when older. It was rather routine and rather sweaty so fun. The gym showers were large and often we finished with group and changed but door to showers was always open and mom and sisters entered all the time.
When younger boys were there they did not care if older boys were naked and entered. It was funny talking to a girl my age naked who drove two younger boys home. They would see rections and giggle all the time.
Weekends were different too as dads brought girls in room to to change them. It was always the same girls. they were often modest .

Dave, it's interesting to note that for you, "It was funny talking to a girl my age naked who drove two younger boys home," while for my brother, it was a super embarrassing experience... Two very different ways of experiencing the same thing... Yours is definitely better.
How old were you when this happened? And the girls you were talking to?

Well I did this activity from 10 to 16 and sometimes 17 until I stopped. I did it as landscaping was boring to me as part time job. Swiming was nude when doing it or after sports. You could do it on Saturday AM too. What I remember was walking 100 feet to rinse off and another 150 feet to pool as a boy from 10. At 10 you did not care that much.
I can not remember ages anymore but some I knew from school and some I just knew from gym. It was a regular crowd that did this often. Only boys did this to be clear. I would walk back to gym and hallway was to boys room and to exit. Not many older men went ever except on Saturdays.
A few younger boys went to car naked after swimming but I usually walked home so didnt. It seems a few girls saw lots of penises growing up and for others it was rare.
