I found the whole experience fascinating. It was a carefree time. I went to the ocean beach with a girl my age, around 9, and her mom. We checked into a slightly run-down motel and immediately headed to the beach. As we arrived, I saw another boy naked in the parking lot with his mom; they got into a car and drove off.
We gathered our things, and without asking, the mom declared, 'You're still a boy; you don't need bottoms at the beach.' She proceeded to take my shorts off, and I walked naked to the dune path with them. She was right; maybe only one out of three boys was wearing shorts anyway. We stayed for about six hours and headed back to the motel much later. Since my clothes were in the trunk, I simply got into the car naked and went to the motel like that, where my backpack was. I continued like this all week and ended up with an all-over tan, which I absolutely loved.

My mom used to visit beaches with me since I was just a baby.
The earliest pictures with me on the beach (from my family old albums) are from the summer of 1982 when I was already 2 years old and I was posed just in my birthsuit. Of course that I don't remember anything from such an early age, but I had some vague memories being also nude, from when I was 4 or 5 years old, also from some beaches...
I was so young that it really dosn't matter for me back then for being nude...
I remember me walking nude on some promenade beach being hold by hands by one or both of my parents, but also carried on the back of dad's neck...
I loved to sit right on the sand or on shore and play with some beach toys around me...

For such a simple story, that story was packed with a lot of pleasant thoughts.
1. "It was a carefree time."
With all the problems I've had lately,
it's nice to know that the word "carefree" is still in the English vocabulary.
2. "I went to the ocean beach with a girl my age, around 9, and her mom."
You were honored.
It seems that every daughter at that time had a mother hunting naked boys for the daughter.
You must have been a prime choice.

That means that wherever their destination was, the boy had to get out of the car naked.
And that must be in some place other than the beach.
I hope they made some stops along the way.
That means that the boy had to get out of the car several times.
And in several places.
I like to hear about boys appearing naked at other places than swimming sites.

I wonder whether she was really that uninhibited,
or whether she only pretended to be.
I bet she rehearsed that moment over and over in her mind,
starting long before the beach trip.
After all the Augustinian, Calvinistic, H F and D rhetoric with which I was raised,
I am always delighted to find an adult not only tolerating nudity but requesting it.
5. "Since my clothes were in the trunk, I simply got into the car naked and went to the motel like that, where my backpack was."
Why did she go through all the trouble of locking your clothes in the trunk?
Why couldn't she just throw your clothes under the umbrella, along with the picnic basket and the beach towels?
Why couldn't she just throw your clothes on the back seat of the car?
Stupid question. Because she wanted to make it difficult for you to get dressed.
She wanted to see you naked and she wanted her daughter to see you naked.
I like this one too. See number 3.

I like the thought of a boy remaining nude for a long time, without worrying about dressing and undressing.
