Just for fun here are THINGS mothers said to boys in backyard pool culture in south in 70s and 80s. What have you heard

"It’s too hot for clothes today."

"You have to do it in gym class, what’s the difference?"

"They’re just girls, they don't care."

"Oh, hush. Nobody is looking at you."

"I am not washing those jean shorts again."

I have long tried to imagine what sort of dialogue went on in those days which I somehow missed.
Some of those lines seem rather insensitive to me, though.
I'd like to think that I wouldn't say "Nobody is looking at you,"
but rather "If anybody is looking at you, they are liking what they see."

What sort of things did girls say?
And what sort of things did the girls' mommies say?
