When I grew up in Upstate New York, I had some nudity in mixed company, especially girl nearby in august with no AC. After even bath I always took an air bath for hour or two for good health, and always got erection. It was just mom around so no explanations needed.

However if we were playing out side an dirty, I always stripped before coming in from porch. Other boys did too so did not stress me.

"Look, your brother is at that age where his body is just 'testing the baby making plumbing.' It’s going to happen four or five times a day, and half the time he won't even know why. It’s just his muscles and his blood doing their own thing while he grows up. It’s not a big deal, so don't make it one."

"Pipe down, Marie. It’s ninety degrees and he’s a growing boy—it’s not a magic trick, it’s just biology. If you’re that worried about it, go out back and spray him with the hose until he shrinks back to normal!"
