Perhaps I should not have been so bold in defending Germaine Greer. In 2016, Attard-Johnson, Bindemann, & Ó Ciardha ran on a study on male and female heterosexual university students. Each subject was shown images of adults and children of preferred and nonpreferred gender. Although most of the subjects responded in pupillary response to the adult images of both genders, they did not respond to the child images.
