Like you mentioned, in many cases it seems to me that it would serve as a “reset.” My parents didn’t do cornertime, but I did have to do it at school and at my grandmother’s house. I can remember hearing the kids behind me playing and having a good time, and I had to sit out! Just that fear of missing out was usually enough to make me shape up.
