Date Posted: 13:08:31 04/23/26 Thu In reply to: Katie 's message, "Re: Mouthsoaping" on 12:02:28 04/22/26 Wed Jackie and Kate, My mother used mouthsoaping occasionally, and it was Irish Spring. What a horrible retching flavor! We had to bite down on the bar until we were told to halt. As horrible as it was, I always preferred it to a spanking, and Mom was no slouch of a spanker. II suppose that is one reason I do not use mouthsoaping with our kids. Besides, spanking is really my only punishment. I have noted that God's parenting instructions never tell us to use a soap of correction. So I stick with the rod of correction. I am surprised by Jackie's observation that mouthsoaping was mostly used by religious families. I guess they read the Bible differently than me. What I put no stock in is the assertion by modern so-called "experts" that there is a danger of poisoning naughty children. Is there one documented case of a child being poisoned by mouthsoaping? It is the same type of fallacious assertions these dishonest ideologues make about spanking. Jen [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
