Sort of the opposite when I was a teacher and a sixth grade student showed up a bit late, with her mother.
Her mom pulled me aside and (in front of the girl) told me “Sorry we are late. Belle wouldn’t get ready for school on time today so I had to give her a good spanking.”
Poor girl blushed bright red.
