My kids' Schools send texts home to the parents when the kids get in trouble but they also still send notes home. I usually give my kids a chance if they get in trouble to tell me what happened rather than confront them directly as soon as they get home. More often than not, if they give me the note and tell me what they did, without me bringing it up, I won't spank them. If they don't tell me and I have to tell them I got a text from their teacher. They know they will get spanked.
