What relation does Syracuse Basketball have on this Message Board.... you ask. Well, Brad Feleccia's High School Teammate was GMac or Gerry Macnamera, currently a freshman on the Orangeman. I had the opportuninty to see GMac play 4 times when I was following some of Brad Feleccia's State Tourney games..... I was impressed.

I also stated 1.5 years when GMac just ended his Junior Year in HS, that he would become a College hoop sensation and a star..... quite possibly right of way. Well he hasn't become the sensation that I thought he would be.... at least not yet. Syracuse has another Frosh named Carmelo Anthony and he is averaging around 25ppg.

I have seen GMac on TV three times this year and he has played well, which included the Seton Hall game the other night, where Gmac hit a flurry of 3 pointers. As a frosh PG, he averages 14.7ppg, 5.1apg (51 assists with only 21 T/O's), and is shooting 42% from beyond the arc..... not bad for Big East Frosh, but less than what I expected.

I have never been a fan of Syracuse, nor Jim Boeheim, but I think they have a very special player in Gmac. If you have a chance to see Syracuse, watch out for Gerry Macnamera. I still think he can average 30ppg as a PG.

Looks like the Rochester paper and myself were thinking alike..... time to reflect on GMac's season and potential.
